Void Transaction
The Void Transaction feature lets you cancel payments for orders that have been authorized but not yet invoiced. This feature is specifically for orders set up with the Authorize transaction mode, meaning the payment was approved but not fully processed.
Steps to Void a Transaction
1. Navigate to: WooCommerce > Orders.
To void an Authorized order, navigate to WooCommerce > Orders
2. Locate the Order:
- Go to the Orders section in the WooCommerce Admin Panel.
- Click on Orders and find the order you want to process.
3. Open the Order:
Click on the specific order to view its details.
4. Void the Authorized order:
In the Order Actions box, use the dropdown to select Void.
5. Click the Update button.
The payment will be voided, an order note will be added, and the order status will be updated to “Cancelled.”
- Voiding a transaction stops the payment process entirely, so the funds will not be captured from the customer.
- This is only possible if the order hasn’t been invoiced yet. If the invoice has already been generated, you’ll need to follow the refund process.
