Void Transaction
The Void Transaction feature lets you cancel payments for orders that have been authorized but not yet invoiced. This feature is specifically for orders set up with the Authorize Only payment action, meaning the payment was approved but not processed.
Steps to Void a Transaction
1. Access the Orders List
- Log in to the Magento Admin Panel.
- Go to the Sales menu and select Orders. This will display a list of all orders.
2. Find the Order
- Look through the list to find the specific order for which you want to cancel the payment.
- Click on the order to open its details page.
3. Void the Transaction
- On the order details page, find and click the Void button.
- A confirmation message will appear. When you confirm, the payment authorization will be canceled, and the transaction will be voided.
- Voiding a transaction stops the payment process entirely, so the funds will not be captured from the customer.
- This is only possible if the order hasn’t been invoiced yet. If the invoice has already been generated, you’ll need to follow the refund process.
